- Standard chess rules — full legal-move checking, castling, en passant, and pawn promotion.
- Colors are assigned randomly when the host starts the game.
- Draws are detected automatically: stalemate, insufficient material, the 50-move rule, and threefold repetition — or offer one to your opponent anytime.
- Resign anytime if the position is hopeless.
